About Us

Relax. We are here to help you.

Retreat garden is dedicated to remedial, therapeutic massage treatments and well-being. We know and understand that life can be hectic and demanding, with a lot of responsibilities. Jobs increasingly shift toward long hours, working in a static position with little movement and stressful deadlines. Long commutes are common. This kind of lifestyle puts our bodies under a lot of pressure and develops a breeding ground for chronic pain, injuries, anxiety, and burnout. We understand.

Retreat garden was especially created to bring together independent, experienced, certified and like-minded therapists. Using our knowledge and years of experience we treat and help clients to soothe and alleviate chronic pain symptoms caused by arthritis, fibromyalgia, TMJ dysfunction, and tension due to repetitive stress or injuries.

We’re not the sort to just rub oil on—in fact we don’t do wraps or potions—we just provide the very best massage of your life, one backed by knowledge. Our goal is to help you experience greater flexibility and freedom of movement…and let you take a break from your stress. We investigate each issue, discover the root cause of what’s going on and tailor the session to meet your needs. Every. Single. Time.

In many cases we are able to help you manage your pain with less need for medication. Through our treatments and care, we can improve your overall health and well-being.

Need some peace of mind?

As well as the physical benefits of treatments, there are also mental benefits. These include promoting a lasting sense of peace and tranquility, reducing anxiety and panic disorder, alleviating stress, and improving sleeping patterns.

Before each session we take the time to listen to your concerns and tailor the treatment accordingly for that day. Our main focus is on therapeutic massage treatments, but we also offer a wide range of other treatments to relax and rejuvenate your mind and body.

Retreat garden’s clients include athletes, performers, musicians, dancers, yoga teachers, chefs, and industry professionals, who depend on massage therapy sessions to keep their bodies in great condition. They choose therapeutic massage when they’d like to decompress from the aches and pains of their lifestyle, to help them recover from injuries, improve circulation, or manage the pain and alleviate the discomforts of pregnancy. Choose from a variety of services including a relaxing Swedish, incredible therapeutic Sport Massage, Pregnancy (Prenatal) Massage, amazing Retreat signature, or try our pampering Body Scrub Massage.

Meet the therapist

Welcome to Retreat Garden! My name is Bianca, and I am a massage therapist with almost 15 years’ experience, a physiotherapist, and the founder of Retreat Garden. I am originally from Romania, where I graduated in 2009 from The Victor Babeş University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timisoara, and became a Physiotherapist. I specialize in deep tissue massage, incorporating myofascial release, trigger point techniques, and sports massage into my practice. I have worked in both clinics and spas and my goal has always been to work as a team with clients to achieve their personal health goals, whether they are post-injury rehabilitation, personal maintenance, or simply relaxing the body and restoring the mind.

After my graduation I went to experience the London life, where I had a very successful massage company focussing on therapeutic/deep tissue massage and back pain management. Three years later, I decided to leave everything behind to discover a more serene place to work and have a family, and I moved to The Netherlands, The Hague. For the past seven years, I have been working as an independent massage therapist,  mostly helping the expat community and providing the best therapeutic massages.

Massage has always been my calling, my passion and my dedication, long before I studied medicine. I began my massage journey when I was very young: I would massage my colleagues, teachers, family members, and I learned that I could make them feel good, decrease their pain, improve their mood, and even calm their stress. When I realised how big an impact a massage can have, I went on a mission to become a very good and knowledgeable therapist and to help as many people as I can.

I am well-known for my Deep Tissue/Sport Massage techniques; no trigger point has ever escaped my hands. I would describe my massage style as an “eclectic blend” where I have selected the best techniques from each massage style that I have learned, with a real focus on addressing the individual needs of each client.
